We just finished our first rehearsal for a new scene. And a promise is a promise, so we placed a simple recording of "the coming into existence" on the site! Recorded just with camara microphone, so exclusively for the site, not the dvd.
(Click on:) Chemical Alphabet
Composition: Simon Robinson, Maxim Baghuis (Keys), Ron Lezer (Guitar), Willem Hendriks (Double bass), Clint Marana (Drums).

This sunday we made a very cosy, warm "at home" recording of "Lonely House"by Eva van Leeuwen and Modeste... Audio will be placed a.s.a.p.. As we're quite busy with regular work, video has to wait a bit...
The lay-out of the site changed slightly, in search for more transparency and ease of use... The plans for a whole new site differ so much qua presentation, exchange of material and more... That next step we'll take along with the next project!
sept 20 2007
There's a fast mix placed on the site of (click on:) Lonely House by Eva & Modeste. Video will follow soon.
Next month, oktober 20 & 21 the revARTour will take place, on 10 locations around the Regentessequarter in The Hague. Among others our Robert Rook will play there. Soon the whole program will be placed on the site of (Click on:) Stichting Bcom. Lots of Jazz, Hip Hop, Singer-songwriters, Electronic and more. I'll give you a wake up call around that time...
sept 21 2007
Modeste has let us know he's not comfortable with the fact that we're putting his music on-line in an unfinished stadium. A misunderstanding about the way we work. As his project with Eva van Leeuwen is very precious to him, he'd like more control about what's happening at AT. Of course we understand his opinion, and I've deleted their "Lonely House" from the site. We'll think over any further cooperation...

Char just returned from a holyday in Turkey. Heard clarinetist Hüsnü Senlerdirici... Check him out: 1 & 2. And a beautiful CD (click on:) Hüsn-ü Klarinet
The lucky ones that read Tukish... Husnufan
Back to business! I was asked how the final production will look like when finished. Well, the idea is that every scene will cross into or otherwise connect to the next one. A clear example is the end of Tower of Oud evenigsession with Susanne. Have a look!

A couple of new scenes: Theatre company Leo XIII and Speelgras.nl will let us use a stage with artificial grass for the recording of Chemical Alphabet. Thanks a bunch!
All musicians are available... let's hit it!
Simon's Rainsong will be played by drummer Taco Gorter! Welcome! Bass: Willem Hendriks, Guitar: Ron Lezer. Philip de Goey en Pim van der Hust will provide a swinging live sax (and more) arrangement.
The cooperation with Eva and Modeste is postponed for now... maybe we'll pick that up later!
The mirrorball did not survive... (Click to enlarge.)
oct 26 2007
This sunday we'll visit the location at the theatre company Leo XIII (see oct 22).
For this scene we want a rotating camera "top-down", so we had to unleash the good old workmate... look at the results...
oct 29 2007
Yesterday we got a wonderful treat at theatrecompany Leo XIII! Everybody was very helpfull and thinking along!
We can borrow the camera from Pim van der Hust and Vincent Mens borrows us a dimmerpack and stand... getting there, no problems!
Worked out "mise en scene" (click to enlarge)

We got to know Peter Kruithof. His roots in the "Westland", spreads his wings and flies along with us for a while... This friendly singer / songwriter is searching his archives for a piece to work out in AT. In the meanwhile, however, we hopelessly fell in love with his breathtaking (click on:) Bij Duisternis (At Darkness)... To get to know him!
In spite of all busy hassle Charley found time to make recordings for AJAPA. The song (click on:) Back to Space would be such a great addition to AT, that cooperation seems inevetable... Have a look at there (dutch) website.

dec 29 2007
We're proud to announce the cooperation with the english "Syfi", a cutting edge company in motion detection. Frans and Charley had two valuable and very inspiring meetings with 3 producers of the company. Soon Susanne (dance) and us will be working on live operated visualisations, and perhaps more... almost elementary research!
the site is somewhat enhanced again, navigation within the project via The project. Now extended with links! Have a look at Friends.

We can look back on quite a successful session of Simon's "Chemical Alphabet" in (click on:) Purmerend ! Once again we thank theatrecompany Leo XIII for a great cooperation!
Within this "collage" we'll experiment some with audiodubs (Grand piano & Guitar) and perhaps we'll have a second session on an other location, a nice old villagepub or... We'll see!
Directly to a first rough mix? Click on: Chemical Alphabet
We're getting on schedule! In spite of the little amount of time we have beside our other jobs... We try to set some sort of deadline... the rumour will be that the project will be ready the first quarter of the year eh... 2008!
Pim suggested organizing a "gathering"... Cool jams, a small entrance fee for the musicians? Enough enthousiasm? Mail me!
Finally we'd like to draw your attention to Michal Levy, a great animator (trice) who's projects are very musically profound!

nov 20 2007
Many bands and persons ask us to help with a video... Unfortunately Rob and Charley will not be able to help out due to "normal working activities". Rounding up A.T. will help... later! Participant Vincent Mens, however, is expanding his business DTA with videocapabilities. Have a look at his site!
For a scene with (click on:) Yellow Stones we're looking for a rude though cheerful rockguitarist... Are you one? Know one? Let us know! Mail us!
Also there is space left for a nice ballad! Original work please... We love to hear from you!
dec 9 2007
With Susanne we did the last recordings for the scene in the Tower of Oud. It will be an overlay on the existing material.
The mix of (click on:) Chemical Alphabet is in its 2nd phase. Maxim and Charley are working on it.

All of you have a great 2008! The picture is evidence the editorial staff had quite a wild party at their annual (click on:) newyearsdrink!
We made some first recordings of Ajapa in meditationcentre Wajid. The recordings will be mixed with a performance on an other location, but we give you a (click on:) sneak-preview!
With Peter Kruithof we finally decided to play Bij Duisternis for A.T.

There's a lot of news for you!
Chemical Alphabet is to a next level again... Maxim and Charley have - with intensive use of the ftp server- turned this story into quite something else! Not ready yet, and a bit strange without video, but this is going the right direction!
Rainsong has been recorded at Taco's place... A preview: midi and live-drums. Soon a first video-impression. Rob is busy with it. Rest of the live instruments later on! First da Bass by Willem Hendriks...
Truth has been enhanced... small changes in sound and vision.
Willem Hendriks has unravelled 'At Darkness' by Peter Kruithof. Soon a first session?
The cooperation with Robert Rook has been continued... He came with the idea to play a solo in AT. Perhaps an improvisation with Rob Armus on sax? Listen on Roberts site!
With SYFi we're really on track now! The meeting last weekend was a brainstorm... 3 of them... 3 of us... About using and developing their software 'Eva'. As she can combine 3d animations and 'motion tracking', we now have a really good reason to bring AT live on stage! Music, Dance, and interactive 3d projections!
Last month one day with a 100 hits on the site... a modest milestone!
Meet Ajapa's bandmembers: Sigari, Aditya, Maud, Yoga. You already know Philip!

jan 3 2008
We agreed so much that we wouldn't write 2 newsletters within 1 week... kind of common, I think we thought... But today Rob Kwak (editing) dashed into the office with such a great piece of new material...
So we just couldn't stop ourselves! Look and listen to the 1st mix of the intro for the "Tower of Oud" scene. With Susanne Middelberg (Dance), Pim van der Hust (Sax) and Johan Mulder (DJ). (Click on:) Tower of Oud, intro

We met Friedemann Wehr on one of his mesmerizing trips in Africa, Namibia. He didn't doubt for a second when we asked him to join in and share his wonderful footage with us. It will spice up the scene with Ajapa.
(Click on:) Namibia 2004. Much more beautiful material on his own piece of Youtube.
For the same scene Maxim Baghuis is musically working on Ajapa's "Back to Space"... An exiting experiment!
Update feb 22: There's a first version of Maxim's remix. Still under construction, but this is going the right way! Click on: Back to Space, Maxim's remix
